Our
main activity consists in finding internships in China.
By doing an internship in China you
have the unique possibility to gain work experience in a country
which represents the largest economical powerhouse, in terms of
growth, in the world today. Moreover, during an internship in
China, most foreign students will be challenged to broaden their
intercultural understanding and skills. An internship in China is
probably the best way to get to know this fascinating country and
its people. Considering the rapidly growing importance of the
Chinese economy within the global marketplace, an internship
placement with a local or multinational company will considerably
add-value to your CV and future career possibilities. Several
studies by market research institutes suggest that by 2010, China
will have surpassed the US and become the leading global
economy.
However, the initial challenge for
most students will be to find a company willing to host their
internship in China. In some cases, your university at home will
have information on institutions which facilitate study-exchanges
and probably also internships for students. If you have a lot of
time available, you can search the numerous jobsites and corporate
websites on the internet for internship possibilities in
China.
From our experience, we can say that our
applications to multinational companies in China will provide the
best chances to gain an internship if you are a foreign student. Due
to the overwhelmingly large number of multinational companies in
China, especially in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Hongkong
and the surrounding industrial areas, you have a large number of
companies to send your application to. Moreover, many companies in
China are used to the concept of internships. In countries such as
e.g. India, it might be a bit harder to get a position.
You should be clear about the value
you can bring into the company as a student. Candidates for local
companies are often successful if they suggest e.g. to carry out
market research studies or language services connected to their home
country. Be clear and communicate consistently in your application
for an internship position in china. If you already gained
international experience in other countries, point that out. Being
able to talk Chinese will give you an additional advantage. Adjust
your application documents, or at least your covering letter, to the
company and division you want to do your internship in. Explain the
reasons why you want to do your internship in China.
